Exchanging Mediocrity for Joy!

Once you’ve asked God to redeem the difficult or unfruitful parts of your life, it’s time to find out what He has had planned for you from the beginning of time. Here are some ideas from Fifty Ways to Find Joy to help you take the next steps once you’ve made the great exchange!

Fifty Ways to Find Joy ~ Key Principle: Find God’s purpose for you.

 1)      Make time and energy for what fires you up

It’s hard to even think about what gets you fired up and makes your heart beat a little faster, when the craziness of life drains every ounce of your energy. Ask God to slow you down a little so you can listen to the passion He put in your heart. Make a list of what energizes you and what drains you. Seek and do the things that energize you and if possible, find ways to change or avoid your energy drainers.

2)      Discover your passion.

Take a life assessment. Go online or seek a professional who can help you find a good assessment tool. Many different kinds are available to help you learn your passions, talents, spiritual gifts and strengths. Feel free to contact us for recommendations on some of our favorites.

3)      Learn how you can use your gifts.

Once you have taken your life assessment, work with a life coach, a mentor, or a consultant to learn what career, ministry or volunteer organization may be a good avenue for you to use the gifts, talents and passions God has given you. Don’t bury them in the ground. (Matthew 28:18)

4)      Pray that God will reveal His will for your life.

Nothing will give you more joy than knowing you are doing exactly what God has purposed and planned for your life. Ask God to show you what He wants to do in and through you, either in your current career or ministry or perhaps even in a new calling only He can see. Trust Him and obey ~ one step at a time.

Finding God’s purpose and plan is one way to continue to seek joy ~ on purpose. In Him you will find the victory, peace and joy that can only be found by walking hand in hand with the Almighty. We’d love for you to share your victory with us on the JoyBlog at www.joyonpurpose.com.
